Five rescued and rehabilitated manatees were released at Blue Spring State Park in Volusia County, Florida. These orphaned manatees had long recoveries over several years, but now they are fully rehabilitated and can go back to being wild animals.
Every animal returned was fitted with a GPS tracking device that will allow the researchers the ability to monitor their movements and make sure their transition back to the wild goes smoothly.
