From a new display dedicated to Porsche 911 to a holiday brass concert, find something that interests you this week in Northeast Ohio.

A concert Saturday will merge tradition with technology, as the Akron Symphony Orchestra collaborates with Akron鈥檚 EarthQuaker Devices to add electronic effects to musicians鈥� acoustic instruments.

AkronArts, a new initiative from the University of Akron, launched lastweek, aimed at promoting arts on campus and downtown. The idea to pair the arts with local revitalization efforts came from realizing that while the city of Akron had an interesting and 鈥渋ntentional鈥� way of making its downtown into a more, 鈥減rosperous, vibrant place,鈥� the university didn鈥檛 鈥渞eally have a part to play,鈥� said university president Gary Miller.
