Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan has opened up the possibility of selling a coveted parcel of land in to conservation groups.
The city received several bids earlier this year for single-family housing developments on the nearly 45-acre site along Theiss Road near the
Deputy Mayor James Hardy said that鈥檚 still an option, but calls for the land to be preserved have opened up the process.
鈥淭his is the Mayor listening to those concerns and responding by allowing for this additional response to take place in the coming months,鈥 Hardy said.
The city will take bids on conservation projects through the end of March.
