Memorial Day parades around the country are canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions on public gatherings. But there鈥檚 an , musically.
Will Bixby has been since 5th grade. Now a junior, he鈥檇 planned to march in the Memorial Day parade as part of the Hudson High School marching band. Instead, he鈥檚 joining a nationwide effort set up by CBS News and retired Air Force bugler . They鈥檙e asking musicians to play 鈥淭aps鈥� from their front yards, porches, and driveways at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day.
鈥淚鈥檝e always wanted to get a lot of people together and play 鈥楾aps.鈥� I think that鈥檚 so cool. Honestly, it鈥檚 a big honor to play in memory of those who have fallen.鈥�
The 鈥淭aps鈥� effort is inviting everyone to pause at 3 p.m. to pay tribute to fallen service members.
