鈥淚鈥檓 very unhappy with how they鈥檙e doing things,鈥 Robin Wallace says. 鈥淎nd we can鈥檛 get to our senators. They鈥檙e hiding.鈥
Wallace was at one of another round of Saturday. Protesters in downtown Cincinnati gathered at Piatt Park before marching to the Federal Building at Fifth and Main. They carried signs protesting the Trump administration's actions and stances on , , and .
鈥淚鈥檓 very angry with the way the Trump administration is doing so many things,鈥 Wallace says. 鈥淒eportation without due process, that鈥檚 the biggest one lately. Social Security, I鈥檓 worried about.鈥
Wallace says she doesn鈥檛 know if marches like this will have an effect. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 my only recourse right now. We鈥檝e got everything stacked against us, and rather than staying home and feeling hopeless the only thing I could do was try and get with other people who feel like I do right now.鈥
The Hamilton woman says this was her fourth demonstration this year. 鈥淚 had never protested until this year,鈥 she notes, echoing a sentiment expressed by some in tied to the 50501 Movement earlier this month. The name stands for 50 protests in 50 states and one movement. The group has orchestrated several nationwide anti-Trump protests since early February.

Ben Barden of Anderson Township says he鈥檚 tired of watching and not doing. 鈥淚 think everyone showing up and showing that we鈥檙e not OK with American citizens being deported to other countries. We鈥檙e not OK with our teachers unions being attacked.鈥
Barden carried a sign reading 鈥淩espect the Constitution. Due process for all,鈥 referring to deportations under the Alien Enemies Act, and President Trump鈥檚 executive order limiting birthright citizenship.
鈥淚 think that, as much as anything, might be the motivating event,鈥 Barden says. 鈥淲hen you see the 14th Amendment under attack like we do now, it really brings it home, what鈥檚 happening.鈥
He says someone who is locked up shouldn鈥檛 just be thrown in a camp, or deported in shackles. 鈥淚t鈥檚 not how we do things.鈥
Barden says he's an independent who's voted Democrat in the past but doesn't feel much allegiance to the national party right now.
